Welcome to the Kingdom of Ice!
Below you will find explanations of the various volunteer opportunities available and wikis to sign up for shifts. Please also note that there are TWO, yes two locations, for ice this year. Make sure when you sign up for a shift, it is in the wiki for the location you would like to work.
Kingdom of Ice (Ice Central) is located on the southern end of the city, (same place as last year) along the main road. The Kingdom of Ice includes the FreeZorBurn Lounge with 24 hour chill space. The Lost Kiva of Ice is located on the northern side of the city (near the Get Lost area).
DJs, performance artists and other entertainment may also sign up to perform at the FreeZorBurn Lounge. That is a separate wiki, listed at the bottom of this page.

[edit] Volunteering for Ice
There are three types of positions needed for each shift, they are: Pusher - person in the ice truck. This person will break down the palettes and will move the ice bags and blocks to the door of the truck where a Slinger will retrieve it. Gloves necessary unless you like frostbite. Warmer clothes might be needed (really). Great place to be on a hot Texas afternoon! Slinger - person who retrieves ice from the truck and carries it to the counter. Slinger should be able to carry 5 bags of ice (packaged together). Gloves encouraged. This is one job that will keep you really cool in that hot Texas sun! Cashier - person who rings up the ice on the register and handles money. The cashier lets the slinger know how many bags of ice are needed.

[edit] FreeZorBurn Lounge at the Kingdom of Ice
The lounge is a chill space open 24 hours (with the exception of a few scheduled private events). The lounge is full of comfort with plenty of seating, a bar and performance art/DJ space. If you are interested in performing or spinning (we will have DJ equipment onsite), please go to the FreeZorBurn Lounge and sign up onsite. Spaces are in two hours shifts.
