Pyropolis, Texas (Kit O'Connell, Web Content Lead) -- The Pyropolis Rangers are the nervous system of Burning Flipside. They watch, listen, and mediate when situations grow difficult. Most of all, they keep an eye on our temporary city so that we can feel safer having fun in it. After years of avoiding ranger training, I had a great time and learned a surprising amount. With more training sessions for this critical role scheduled soon in Austin, Houston and Dallas, I wanted to share my experiences and encourage our community to volunteer and attend.

Our city is what you make of it, and the creative contribution that you provide is the foundation for Pyropolis to be built upon. An integral ingredient in our community is the visions-come-to-life that you possess and share with your fellow Flipizens. This event can be completely different and utterly new each year, and as such, should be considered a tabula rasa of our very own, to be restyled and rewritten. One of the many art pieces that dots our fair city -- one which embodies this motif -- is camp Carpe Noctem’s Magnetic Poetry Board.
