Cold Comfort

Inspired by Harry Harlow's experiments on Attachment Theory, the scient/art-ists offer two "mothers", one in wire, one soft. The back-to-back "mothers" offer a choice between two forms of "comfort." In order to access "comfort" on one side, the subject must sit in an uncomfortable wire lap surrounded by sounds of distressed howlers, macaques and other noises. The other side offers a soft comfortable lap with soothing sounds.
