The Secret Power of Attraction

This 8' sculpture is carved from a 4' diameter cedar log.

Primarily, the theme sculpture was inspired by the multi-media educational set called The Secret, which is also a fitting short name for the iconic work. This sculpture represents mastery over our own state of mind and the timeless, universal laws which create and govern every living thing. The sculpture depicts a huge hand, just having snapped its whimsical, powerful fingers; a welter of combustible activity, captured in the ultimate act of manifestation.

Secondarily, the sculpture functions as practice and study for my upcoming, 24' Statue of Liberty for the new era, to be created in the same style and featuring "The Secret Power of Attraction" as it's hand and torch. This Liberty sculpture will be part of a Burning Man '08 (American Dream) installation called "The Choice".

Participants will stand on a scaffold surrounding the sculpture, harnessed in and help buff the finishing oils in...an important part of the finishing process...they will be encouraged to meditate on their answer to the question "What do you really want".
