LLC Update
The Event is coming. The LLC has been doing stuff and things.
To get a laminate talk to Kevin at DMV.
We will call the national weather service if we can’t get internet.
The LLC cannot discuss bannings in any way shape or form.
If you have pertinent information about a banning that you might or might not have heard about, bring it to the LCC.
The LLC wants to hear from you, just don’t assume that the LLC is stupid.
Maybe make this a future agenda item?
You can have your personal beliefs or you can say “I don’t know, talk to the LLC.”
It’s not the LLC’s policy to say that someone has been banned.
It seems counterproductive when the other person is talking about it that the LLC and CC don’t say anything. It makes the LLC seem like “The Man.”
If there is a victim, it’s more important that the victim has privacy and trust that they can approach the LLC without the victim having any thoughts that the LLC might leak something.
A banning is always contentious. If someone is banned they aren’t going to agree and their friends aren’t going to agree.
Talking about it opens the LLC up to libel suits.
Some people need to know about the banning in case of sneaking in.
Putting up a big wanted poster is the easiest way to identify that a banned person has snuck in. But this is too much of an extreme.
The fewer people that know, the better.
The gate is pretty good at stopping banned people from coming on site.
If someone sneaks on site like this, steals a wristband, etc. They are committing several crimes.
If people have problems with this we should create a proposal to take to the LLC about how we think this could be done better. We shouldn’t try and draw the LLC out about this topic.
Only getting information from the people plugged into the rumor mill, then that won’t get all sides of the issue. What the LLC is asking is that if you hear something that upsets you, the LLC wants to know about it.
There are 2500 people in this community, there are maybe 250 that know the LLC and feel they can talk to them.

The LLC is not putting on the traditional Decomp event, etc.
The Decomp committee recommended the LLC not hosting it due to liability issues. It also cost about $5000 a year.
Theme Camp Meeting Details
We have been discussing having a Theme Camp meeting at Flipside.
Is the LLC going to provide anything?
What does the framework look like?
Etc?
Bonobo will prep the meeting. Clovis will MC the meeting. Effie has worked with Ish to host the meeting.

Are you interested in helping on a committee or something to put together a Theme Camp best practices guide?

People don’t want to commit to a bunch of meetings. We should make people realize that they can bring something up and other people may do the work.
A lot of the good stuff that happens at Flipside happens at Theme Camps.
The LLC as a rule does not provide alcohol.
When the event goes mass gathering, we cannot provide food. So it’s best not to set the expectations.
Do we want to make this pot luck?
Put on the Disinformation Kiosks and send out email to theme camp leads.
Limit this to 2 “leaders” from the theme camps.
Bring your own cup.
Tool Labeling
Lance was upset when one of his tools went missing. Someone labeled the tool AAR mistakenly.
The policy says to label your tools with your name.
The Warehouse Managers should clarify this policy.
Anyone who brings their tools in should label them.
