Please note that AAR, LLC does not provide art grants, however here are some other resources for art grants so YOU can bring BIG Art to Flipside!

Granting Organizations

• Texas Art Garden
  • Associated with Burning Flipside. Gives grants every spring for Flipside, up to $600 per artist. Grant application deadline announced a few months before Flipside.
  • Grants can cover up to 50% of (only) materials cost.
  • Also have a fall grant cycle.
  • In spring 2011, awarded over $4000 to 12 artists (out of 17 submissions.)
  • Winners agree to teach one Art Garden workshop in the next year.
• Black Rock Arts Foundation (BRAF)
  • BRAF provides grant money to artists "in support of interactive installations and performances around the world," typically for off-playa art. Grants are given once a year. Deadline every January.

• Burning Man Art Grants
  • For the big event in the desert. Deadlines February 1st.
• Texas Commission on the Arts
• City of Austin
  • Art in Public Places. Public art commissions.
• Kickstarter
  • Help get the word out about your piece and get the funds to bootstrap your project.
  • Supporters pledge to help you make your goal, but are not charged anything if the goal is not attained.
