Last DaFT Church Night!: May 14, 2008

Gear Cutting Team:

Leader: Twitch / Longshot

Twitch sez "Hey grab some damn crayons and go to town on all the gears you can find. The more wax the better. It protects from water and burns cool and it's natural just like bees and birds and sex."

Totem Team:

Leader: Lance

This Church Night we'll be sanding/cleaning barrels, to prepare them for design by the various design teams. If you want to make sparks fly this is the team for you!

Stage Team:

Leader: Ava / Lance

Final assembly of the stage platforms begins! (For real this time!) We'll be attaching the plywood to the the platform frames and making the folding plywood legs. This should go fast but will be some good old-fashioned work.

Gear Assembly Team

Leader: Kaleb / Chainsaw / Twitch

Layout and mount you own gear train, pulley system, etc. We now have all the platforms setup. Use your creativity, mechanical aptitude, artistry to help make this effigy bad ass.

Marble Team

Leader: Gallows

Build cascade tracks and marble catchers. Will be mounting marble rails to the platforms.

Marionette Team For Church Night May 7: Leader: Izzi / Demon Monk

Modifications have occurred, arms have been added. Dr. Tiki is in the Air! Some pieces are being completed right now as I type. There are belly flames and part of a breast, one arm, and face assembly remaining. These should be done Monday and/or Tuesday evening. We approach the end! For Wednesday, we need all hands on deck to help clean and shine our lady, to make her beautiful for her big debut! Come show your dedication to sparkle motion!

Rope Belts

Leader: Joy / Drinkwhore

Learn to tie a short splice, and help build the effigy by building belts from rope.

Bamboo Skirt Team

Leader: Lucky / James / Mandie

Bust nodes out of bamboo poles with an insanely long piece of rebar. Drill pilot holes for connections in the long poles. Create 'flowers' from reclaimed aluminum cans. Tie bamboo chimes with rope lengths for the flowing skirt...
