Artist Statement: Destiny Augustine is an artist and fabricator from Austin Texas with a special love for all things slightly creepy, unsettling, or bizarre. She works as a multimedia dabbler, trying and obsessing over new materials and processes continually. Everything from the hardness of metal to the softness of textiles is up for play but she has the hardest time saying no to big multimedia projects. Come check out a hot dog you can ride and a life sized angel made of bones, dolls, and paper mache.

What is Catalyst Collective and Burning Flipside?

Burning Flipside, organized by the Texas non-profit entity Catalyst Collective, is a Texas regional arts event inspired by Burning Man. The art and entertainment is created solely by participants and the event run exclusively by volunteers. Although the event itself is an experiment in temporary community, we are proud to have a thriving year-round community made possible in no small part by maintaining a local warehouse space (that we fondly refer to as Lloyd) for people to come together, host free classes and workshops, share ideas, build and dream together.
