Art Project Resources

Making art can be hard- doing it all on your own sometimes proves impossible. We understand that some projects could use a little support. Here are a couple of resources that you may want to consider tapping into.

Ignition Philter

A new organization has been created in the community called Ignition Philter, which will be working on offering art grants for community projects heading to Flipside. You can learn a little more about this independent organization here. Email them directly to learn how your project could be considered for a grant, or if you would like to be a part of the art jury.

Project Support Page

This page was created to list projects that are looking for various types of support, to make their project successfully land at Burning Flipside. Maybe all you need is a few hands to set up and tear down? Perhaps your project requires community participation and you’d like to tap into art enthusiasts to make the thing go? You might have a fundraising page set up and you are looking for more people to help make your dream a reality. You could even be looking for someone who knows how to use a tool or could give advice on building a thing- this is a great place to look for assistance.

This page serves as a shareable community bulletin board, helping participants know what projects could use support to make them go. Who doesn’t like more art?!

Please note that projects listed on this page are expected to be at this year’s event. If this is a personal project that you don’t intend to bring to the event, please do not submit a request to be included to keep space open for those that are.

Do make sure to register your art project when art registration opens. Art Registration should be open around February 15th, 2018 and will close at 11:59pm CST April 15th, 2018.

If you would like your project to be listed on the Project Support Page, complete and submit the form. Be sure to include links (to your project site page, fundraising page) if you are seeking financial contributions. Once your submission has been approved, your project will be listed on the page.

We highly encourage community members to share this link to help spread the word that some great projects could use a little help. Let’s get more art to Pyropolis!

Lloyd The Warehouse

Needing some space to build a thing? This community run year-round warehouse space may be just the thing to get you going! Contact a warehouse manager to discuss logistics, space, guidelines of use, and availability. Check out the Lloyd the Warehouse page for more information. Need tools?! We gots tools. So many tools. Use this resource and make magic happen. This is also a great place to meet with other artists in the community and share knowledge, ask for help, and general awesomeness.
